Hi, I'm Nico De Muynck and i'm working as an e-marketeer for Duo nv. My pursuit for a job I really liked, took almost a year. A year of sending e-mails, making phone calls and endless waiting...

During my education I've developed a fascination for doing and developing business online. Different methods such as e-mailmarketing, social media, analytics, SEO,... can be used to support your online business (boost sales numbers, attract more visitors to your website). I have been using all these techniques during my internship at SHL and while setting up some small online businesses with my friends. Some examples are displayed on the Projects page.

Nico De Muynck, e-marketeer for Duo nv

Since i've been working at Duo for a couple of weeks now, it got about time i'd make a blogpost about it. Duo designs and develops websites and makes internet applications.
Working as an e-marketeer there, is just perfect match for me! 24 dedicated people working as a close team together and developing some of the most amazing apps i've ever seen. It got my interest in coding again, and I'm starting with a few online tutorials to see if it enables me more to make deeper analysis on some projects.

In my third week, we attended #Feweb10 in Antwerp, where we saw a very interesting lecture on usability given by Karl Gillis, from AGConsult. To end, I'd like to share a picture of my workspace, just loving the Apple environment!

Re-Styling nicodemuynck.eu

It's that time of the year again! I'm not happy anymore with how my site looks like so I 've decided to test my graphical skills once again. Can't say that I have a clear idea yet on how the new (and improved?) site will look like, but I know that I want more interaction between visitors.
I've been also looking into some additional studies/certificates to develop myself more as a professional. Courses on internetmarketing by The Aim have caught my attention.

Back unemployed & reddersbal.be

Do not want to elaborate about it but working as a call center agent was not a satisfying job to do.
Nevertheless I've started working on a small new project Reddersbal and started sending out my resume AGAIN =).

Got a job! + luckycasinoevents.be

It has taken me 10 months to find a job related to sales & marketing but I finally got one! Starting at the end of August and I'm very excited about that!
Needless to say that during the summer there is enough work at our coast to keep myself busy so I filled my days with breaking down our 15 year old surfclub. Since we've lost the concession to O'Neill Beachclub Blankenberge, we had to remove our club from underneath the Pier and this before the end of the summer.

And last but not least I've been working a little on a project for the company I've worked for the last year Lucky Casino Events - Casino Feesten & Verhuur. If you follow the link you will have to honor to preview what I've got so far.

Current Projects: talithamartens.be

First of all, my resolution to blog more hasn't been a succes so far. Nevertheless I've started to twitter more seriously and I'm truly hooked right now.
Recently I have been working on some web talithamartens.be and printprojects (Miss Belgium Coast) to keep my knowledge up to date and learn some JQuery.

Last but not least is my jobhunting story: I seem to get more phonecalls lately, which is a good sign! Also done some interviews/tests,... but in the last phase I don't seem to be persuasive enough to actually get the job. Experience is the keyword where it keeps ending for me...

The neverending story: Jobhunting

It's been 7 months so far since I graduated and finding a job in my line of interest seems to be very hard. Loads of mails have been sent, telephonebills are skyhigh but the number of rejections is even higher! I wonder if there is a holy grail of motivation letters. Which remarkable element in that letter decides that the employer even bothers to, first of all even reply to you, secondly might give you a callback for a personal interview?
Well, the search continues and we'll see what the jobfare this Wednesday (5/05) @ Flanders Expo will bring.

O'Neill The Crowning III

Last week has been one of the best in 2010 so far! I was given the opportunity to go to Klitmøller, Denmark with the Belgian surfcommunity. Five days filled with partying, surfing (ahum) and loads of km on the mtb! Pictures and photos can be found on Swell.be

One week anniversary!

First of all I would like to thank all people on 9lives.webdesign for helping me to test my portfolio and suggest some improvements! I've already adjusted the site according to to criticism i've gotten, but it still ain't finished yet!

Just some campaign testing

Nico De Muynck - E-Portfolio Launch!

It has taken a while before I was able to launch my renewed portfolio website. The old one clearly needed an update since it was a schoolproject a couple of years ago.

On this website I'll try to keep track of career and try to spread some thoughts on current trends in Online Marketing.
So bookmark my website and do not hesitate to contact me!
